Cornwall FLOW Accelerator (CFA) is presenting a workshop on anchoring and mooring of floating offshore wind with particular reference to the Celtic Sea and the challenges and opportunities that exist for the region.

Significant research and development work has been conducted by ORE Catapult both under the auspices of the CFA project and as part of the Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (FoWCoE) projects. University of Exeter have also conducted significant leading edge research in this area. Plus, there are now lessons learned from real experience with early FLOW installations. This workshop will explore key findings and issues, challenges and opportunities uncovered by these projects and research. There will be a particular focus on Cornwall and wider Celtic Sea region for local businesses and developers prospecting in the Celtic Sea.

The agenda is yet to confirm but the event is set to feature presenters from ORE Catapult, University of Exeter, Feritech, Celtic Sea Power, Copenhagen Offshore Partners, Reflex Marine, Intelligent Mooring Solutions, Morek Engineering, Inyanga and RWE. The shape, tone and timing will be designed to achieve a clear and stimulating impart of leading edge research as well as creating an environment in which industry can contribute, question and make contacts for future collaboration/planning.

The Cornwall FLOW Accelerator (CFA) project is a collaborative project led by Celtic Sea Power (CSP), University of Exeter (UoE), University of Plymouth (UoP) and the Offshore Renewable Catapult (OREC). It aims to develop tools, knowledge and data which accelerate the Celtic Sea FLOW opportunity and lay significant groundwork with respect to developing pipeline at both a FLOW project and supply chain level. The project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This event is held in conjunction with Marine-i and the Celtic Sea Cluster.
